AGM - Saturday 28 October 2017

Fend House PebworthFend House Pebworth

embers are cordially invited to attend the Club AGM on Saturday 28th October 2017 to be held at Fend House, Pebworth, Worcestershire, CV37 8XQ, by invitation of the Messerschmitt Foundation of Great Britain (MFGB). For those who do not know Fend House, it is a former chapel in the village of Pebworth, acquired and converted using a legacy left by Phil Boothroyd, former President of the Messerschmitt Owners Club and indeed, a founding member of our own Club. Fend House will eventually house a collection of Messerschmitt and FMR vehicles along with Phil Boothroyd's extensive archives and memorabilia. We will have the use of a meeting space and also a fully equipped kitchen.

We plan to start the meeting at 11am, with the intention of having the more 'formal' proceedings of the AGM first, taking any Reports, reviewing the Club Accounts and electing a Committee to see us through the next twelve months. We will also be appointing Roger Hall's replacement as Club President, Roger having sadly passed away on Wednesday 30th August 2017 following a protracted illness. The Club Secretary will be proposing the we appoint Bob Parry, a former Club Chairman, as our new Honorary President.

We will then have a less formal, open discussion on possible developments within the Club on the parts side, closer co-operation with the MFGB on the registering vehicles under the DVLA's V756 scheme (utilising their archives which detail the history of Messerschmitt and FMR vehicles registered in the UK) and events that we might hold, support or participate in during the coming year. A suggested timetable is that we will break for lunch at around 12:30 and close the meeting by 3pm to allow those with long distance to travel, to complete most if not all of their journeys in daylight, benefiting from the last 'knockings' of British Summer Time! Please bring along your own lunch and note that the Fend House kitchen is even equipped with a microwave oven! The Club will be providing tea and coffee.

As last year, we will not be asking for subscription renewals for 2017/18 until after the AGM where we hope to make a decision on whether or not we should request them, still not yet being able to publish TAKE-OFF! If you should need reminding, the last time we requested subscription renewals was at the beginning of 2012 and Club Membership has continued on a rolling basis ever since!

If you need more details concerning the AGM, the Club, have any other queries or indeed, if you would like to join the Committee and help in any capacity, please let our Honorary Secretary, Tony Yates know as soon as possible (by e-mail to or 'phone 07973 448 023.

If you wish to attend the AGM, it will be helpful if you could let us know so we can look out for you on the day. If you are unable to attend, please let our Secretary Tony know so we can record your apologies in the Minutes.
