Coronavirus (COVID19)

A
s a responsible, Historic Vehicle Club we are committed to following and passing on the latest UK Government advice and regulations concerning events and public gatherings, pertinent to our members. Current government and public health advice states that all, non-essential social contact, with other people should be avoided for foreseeable future and people across the UK are being urged to stay at home and only leave their house for essential supplies, to care for others and for one form of exercise a day. At the present time, these restrictions may also be enforceable by law. Although the latest list of Club, Microcar and related Events for 2020 has been published in KaRoscene (click on Diary link above), you will note that it ends with March! The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) has advised all clubs, that in addition to their monthly meetings, to cancel or postpone and events for the foreseeable future, in line with government advice. At present, FBHVC has recommended the cancelling of all events and meetings for the months of April, May and June 2020 and as volunteer organisers announce their move to postpone or cancel certain events, members should support them in that decision. If in doubt, please contact the person listed in connection with the Event or Pub Night, that you are interested in.

Should restrictions be updated or lifted, we will be adding events and revising details of existing events, such as September's National Microcar Rally, as necessary, during the course of the year, so do come back and check from time to time. If there are any errors or if you know of or are involved in organising any events that would interest MEC members and are presently scheduled to take place then please let us know (e-mail editorial@messerschmittclub.org or send to Mark, Tony or Alan).

Considering other services offered by or through the Club, at the present time, we understand that Schmittparts continues to operate as normal and that the Club's Messerschmitt floor-mats, which are in plentiful supply, along with steel floors, manufactured and marketed on behalf of the Club, can be ordered by clicking on https://schmittparts.myshopify.com/. Please check with our Parts Manager, Rylawyn, who operates Schmittparts as a private venture, regarding details and any current restrictions concerning delivery or collection.

Finally, we would be delighted to share any stories or photographs that you might have though KaRoscene, to help brighten these dark times. Please e-mail them to editorial@messerschmittclub.org or send directly to Mark or Tony.
