South Midlands Microcar Camping Weekend - May 2022

A
lan Hitchcock is arranging a South Midlands Microcar Camping Weekend, to be held over the weekend of Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd of May 2022. All small cars and contraptions invited.

An informal event based at the National Trust's Fleece Inn, in Bretforton, near Evesham, which is where we have a monthly Microcar Club Night. The Inn has an orchard which we may use as the camping area. It has electric hook up points for those that wish them. The CAMRA 'approved' draught beer and cider on tap is excellent, and both the Pub and food has won awards, including their Pies - fighting talk to our Northern chums. It is also the spiritual home of Asparagus (See separate Asparagus Run on 23rd of April). It lies in the Vale Of Evesham, with The Cotswolds spread out to the east and south.

Provisional pricing is suggested as £10 a plot, per night, or £20 for a hook up plot. This is to cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but I am sure Nigel, the Landlord, would stretch that for extra days, if required.

Big Al's plan is provide two and a half days of driving activity, on trips out from The Fleece. There is no show element organised, so the evenings will be spent within the Pub (grounds). Casual visitors would thus probably be best looking at the evening of Saturday 21st, to see the most cars, and meet the most owners.

More details to follow or contact Big Al. The Fleece's own website is https://thefleeceinn.co.uk/ and keep checking into the various Microcar pages on Facebook.
